Objective
The Arts Guild New Jersey has received a grant from the Burlington County Parks Division. Our Mural Arts Project is designed to engage visitors, citizens, and business owners in the downtown Burlington. These emblematic and representative forms of artwork will be a broad use of mediums from mosaics to paintings mindful of the historical cultural and industrial development of The City of Burlington.
Goals
There will be five proposed sites. Each site has been vetted and permissions to proceed with or without the owners financial assistance. These works will be based upon a juried approach to selection. The sites include the Arts District crosswalk sections of High Street and Union Street, Burlington Towne Center Light Rail Station area, the closed Santander Bank on the East Side of the Burlington Quaker Meetinghouse and Library Street on E. Broad (North Side View). The Arts Guild has required a component for OUR STUDENTS & YOURS to help in the development of ideas and presentation models. We are asking the artists to incorporate students into some part of their work process either in the classroom or at the relevant sites. We would love to have students and community members involved in the selection process after we receive the artist conceptions of the proposed works. Thank you.
